Where can anyone find straight-up, balls out, THRASH anymore?
Well here you go!
Schizo Deluxe is the eleventh studio release from these long established Canadian thrashers and does not disappoint. Many metal fans have been clamoring for a no-nonsense, bang-your-head album, so that's what we have here, and thankfully so. Legend Jeff Waters simply states in the press materials, "This time around I went right for the throat…Brutal guitar riffs and solos, second-to-none musicianship, and back-to-the-roots thrash/heavy metal songwriting". Nowadays, it is easy to be disappointed by even the most favorite or longest standing musical act…but this release reinstates one's faith in the direction of metal today. It is easy to honor the longevity, quality, and motivation behind this release. Most of the Schizo Deluxe recording sessions were done at Waters' Ottawa, Canada studios, with Waters engineering and producing. Mixing and mastering duties were handled by engineer Chris Coldrick. Bass and all guitar duties were handled by Waters. Ottowa native Tony Chappelle stepped up to fill the big shoes of Mike Mangini on Drums, and vocalist David Padden streamlined his versatility in order to exhibit pure attitude. "Schizo Deluxe is for my fans and all metal fans", adds Waters. "This is a full-on, flat-out ripper that will increase your heart-rate like a shot of adrenaline. No ballads. No lulls in the madness". Well said Jeff, This release only demonstrates the band's street cred and relevance to the metal scene of today. Check it out.
