Former and present members of doom legends Saint Vitus and Trouble get together for the metal/punk hybrid that is Debris Inc., a band that seemingly doesn't take itself too seriously based on this self-titled CD. The recording quality is pretty lousy, sounding much like a low-level demo, and the songs are hit and miss for the most part, with plenty of silly & quick punk tunes mixes in with more lengthy doom metal numbers, which I'm sure is what most people would want to hear from this project. Former Saint Vitus alumni Dave Chandler lays down plenty of feedback & distortion drenched mayhem on "The Old Man and His Bong", a slow, doom laden number that also has some behemoth bass riffs from Ron Holzner. "Nausea" has some meaty and sludge ridden guitar riffs, but some silly vocals, yet "Pain" contains many of the classic Saint Vitus elements, mainly riffs, wild guitar solos, and plodding rhythms. Otherwise, this is mostly a collection of unfinished ideas, bad punk songs, and unfocused doom numbers that don't know if they want to be metal or punk. What also is really sad is the song titles are more interesting than the songs really are. Dig out your Saint Vitus or Trouble records instead, and pass on this turkey.
