Baltimoore: Fanatical

It is hard to believe that this is the eighth offering from this stellar Swedish quintet. As usual the gang opts for ballsy chops and melodies allowing Bjorn Lodin to exploit his fabulous vocals to the max. Bjorn is easily to my mind one of say the top five rock vocalists currently performing. Spurred on by the swirling twin guitar attack of Mankan Sedenbeth and Stefan Bergstrom as well as the punchy rhythm section of bassist Weine Johansson and drummer Hempo Hilden, Lodin puts his stamp all over these ten tracks particular highlights being the title track, "Gimme What You've Got" and "Are You Coming or Not". The band themselves call this one "straight forward hard rock. Loud guitars, no keyboards and an in your face yet melodic sound. It should be listened to loud!" I have nothing to add and no better way of describing this kick ass album than that! For those of you who have never heard any of Baltimoore's back catalogue, I suggest you take a listen to their Greatest Hits offering also on Lion Music although it would certainly not be a mistake in any way to check out any and all of their excellent releases.
