Vonmodik is the alias name and alter ego of Chad J.W. Anderson. What you have here are 14 tracks of avant-garde, electronica, trance, ambient, and techno instrumentals, interspersed with some occasional vocal bits. It makes for a pretty intoxicating listen, at times the programmed synths and drums actually climb to such a pulsating crescendo that you can actually dance to the music. On some songs, Vonmodik creates an almost Tangerine Dream-like wave of ominous sound. There's even a little Latin electronic (!) style on the lovely "Fede Della Casa", a song featuring plenty of groove and repetitive rhythms. On "I'm Not Here", the one song that features vocals, thing slow down a bit and take on a more prog rock tone. All in all, this is a fun release, with plenty of juicy synths and danceable rhythms, a perfect CD to spice up your next party.
