Hey kids - well you old folk like me who refuse to grow up! - are you ready to jump aboard the Rich Kid Express? You are? Well let's meet Under The Purple Lights and rock out like it’s 1982, or 1976, or maybe even 1987 with Rob Richardson and his EP.

What do you mean you’ve heard it all before? Well “U Never…� know what you might find lurking in this five track, good time blast that knows exactly what it is - retro fun fuelled by some Turbo era Judas Priest with Alice Cooper behind the mic opening the show! It’s “Hard Time Lady� who holds you by the…. hand you dirty so and so(!), a riff that’s more “Cat Scratch Fever� than the Nuge can be bothered knocking out these days rattling about for good measure. Who’s that on vocals this time? Ace Frehley you say? Don’t be daft, this ain’t no Eddie Trunk moan-in, it’s the Double R (c’mon, keep up, that’s Rob Richardson - I mean he’s the only guy in this, eh, band) drawling and sprawling before firing out a tasty burst of fret frolics.

Once the good lady has put you down, it’s “Mr Spiffster� who wants to tell you his story with a song that might just have constricted you if Alice Cooper got his hands on it, before the schlock horror of “That’s The Way� dazzles with some 70s UK glam and the odd hand-clap or seven. Interested in what we’ve found so far? Well, last up, it’s time to “Sign On The Dotted Line�, a host of the above influences regaling you with the story of a washed up rock star who appears to have sold their soul to, well, just about anyone who would’ve been willing to have it in exchange for 15 minutes opening up for Tank in some dingy toilet.

OK you clapped out leather clad old codgers, that’s enough fun for now. Back to your easy chairs and cosy slippers in front of the two bar fire you can’t afford to heat. What? You ain’t done yet??? Well, OK, if you insist, you can have one more ride on the Rich Kid Express before bed and pretend that it’s still 1980-something.
