The press I've read about this SoCal group (accolades, mainly) I find amusing. No, nothing clever here. Yes, the members wear costumes (just masks, it appears) onstage. (Residents, Invisible Sex, anyone?)
Moderation, subtlety, finesse — things music ought to have, The Locust lacks. So what if they have analog synths? Other "extreme" or "hardcore" bands have or had 'em, too.
Noise. Just a bunch of noise. It doesn't take a whole lot of talent to do this sort of stuff. I can imagine droves of "angst-ridden," whiny trust fund teens eating this crud up.
