LevelSix: On the Inside (demo)

Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, LevelSix play a varied metal style that incorporates a little bit of the 90's Seattle sound, a touch of prog-metal, some moments of the 80's pop-metal scene, and plenty of crunchy hard rock. There's many catchy hooks to go along with the bands thunderous guitar riffs and rock solid yet groove laden rhythms, like on "Darker Shade of Light" and "These Things". The band shows they have an adventurous edge with the song Give In To Me", and can even batter you over the head with Pantera-like fury on "Life Sentence". However, the last two cuts are a letdown, the punk influenced "Love is a Myth" and the ending instrumental "#@%$ Party" which is pretty much a waste of time. The band's website states that they have recently hooked up with famed producer Sylvia Massy Shivy (System of a Down, Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Sevendust, etc) in hopes of getting a record deal, so it will be interesting to see if the potential of this band can be fulfilled with this latest development.
