Snake Mountain Revival: Everything In Sight

Snake Mountain Revival formed in Virginia in 2017, starting out with improvisational live sets. In 2018 the band released a self-titled EP and in 2021 came their debut full-length titled Everything In Sight.

The band plays psychedelic/stoner rock with elements of doom and I have to say their sound is totally absorbing and super trippy. Everything In Sight is a fantastic debut album beginning with “Satellite Ritual”, a tune steeped in a psychedelic haze, as the guitar work is totally trippy. Special mention needs to be made of the lead vocals as they are superb throughout the disc. I get some Blue Oyster Cult vibes and for me that is never a bad thing. The guitar has a resonating effect which I really dig. “Moon Baron” begins with fuzz drenched guitar riffs that soon turn doomier in nature. Excellent drum fills and a cool echo effect on the lead vocals gives everything an occult vibe. The band easily changes pace, slow and doomy to faster riffage displaying their considerable talent. More psychedelic sounds can be heard on The Doors-like “Just A Feeling” and on “Graveyard Grove”, the doomy riffs and textural guitar work is mind expanding. The title track is another great song, as the band has their psychedelic infused guitar and grooves down to a fine art.

Everything In Sight is a great addition to any doom/psychedelic rock collection. Snake Mountain Revival has a bright future indeed.

A Ripple Music/Rebel Waves Records release.
