Rodrigues, Rod: Tales Of A Changing Life, Part 1

Rod Rodrigues Tales Of A Changing Life, Part 1 is a mind blowing Prog instrumental EP to be released on the 20th of May 2022. I didn’t really know what to expect as I wasn’t that familiar with his work. The EP kicks off with "D257" and it’s Prog as it should be, with plenty of intricate musical licks, the timing of the music is brilliant and all the players are giving it their all, a superb way to kick off the EP.

The second track "Woodbine Sunset" {Feat guitarist Marc Sfogli} is a beautiful piece with fantastic guitar work on it, it flows like a stream and gets inside your head.

Up next is "La Premiere Experience", which is another amazing piece of music, with so much going on that it takes you to places in your subconscious that it really absorbs you.

"Changing Plans" is utterly fantastic and indeed it would make you change your plans to listen to it over and over again, the bass work is so good, I love this track and if you love your Prog you’ll just die for this composition.

Closing things out is "Physical Distancing" (Feat. Dallton Santos a.), and this is a fitting end to the EP, which includes a lovely opening with some light acoustic and it then bursts into life with a stunning guitar riff that gave me goosebumps and as the track moves along it gets heavier with another scorching riff.

This EP really, really surprised me at how good it is and I want to keep playing it over and over and it gets even better the more I listen to it. I would highly recommend you get this EP and if like me you love your Prog-rock, then expect to be blown away again and again.
