I suppose it makes sense a band called Love Bubble would release an album with the theme of love coursing through its grooves. The North Carolina trio’s debut album is titled Love Revolution, an apt title considering the music found within. In the band are Paula Hanke, Hank Bones, and Peggy Ratusz. Listening to this album is like taking a time warp to the mid 1960s, turning on the pop station on your radio and letting the positive vibes wash over you. All the tracks are between two and four minutes, short and to the point.
This isn’t complicated, just twelve sunshiny tracks bursting with optimism and about as catchy as you will hear. The vocal harmonies are nice throughout and the band do not stray from standard song structures. And that’s okay as sometimes I just want something easy to listen to where you can just turn off your mind and let the whimsical music flow. To get enjoyment out of this breezy platter, a love of pop music from decades yore is a prerequisite. If that’s you, put on your tie dye, let your hair down and dig in.
