Bone Church: Bone Church

You got to love a band name like Bone Church, I can picture the visualization in my mind. With a name like that you would expect a heavy slab of rock/metal and that is exactly what this New Haven, Connecticut quintet has given us with the re-release of their 2018 self titled debut album.

Dan Sefcik (guitars, bass, lyrics)
Rob Sickinger (drums, lyrics)
Jack Rune (vocals)
Pat Good (bass)
Rich Firine (guitars on tracks 6 and 7)

A massive barrage of fuzz hits you immediately with the album opening “Altered States�, a catchy heavy rock song with powerful vocals and deep rhythm work. The heavy blues inflected stoner rock of “Crimson Crown� with its stabbing lead guitar is another heavy, yet catchy tune. The instrumental “Sacrament� is another heavy onslaught of distorted guitars and cleaner, psych inspired chords giving this one a trippier feel at times. Some of the best lead vocals on the disc can be heard on “Pale Moon Sacrifice� with its intriguing mixture of heavy and lighter moments and on “Too Far Out� the blues inflected rock riffs are superb. The disc ends with two extra live tracks, a nice bonus that were not on the original album.

If you are in the mood for earth shattering riffs and strong melodies with great lead vocals look no further than these metal behemoths from Connecticut. Another highly recommended release from Ripple Music.
