Orden Ogan: Final Days

Orden Ogan write about cowboys? Right? Or about vast expanses of land where warriors roam? Right? In their never ceasing quest to cover all bases on Final Days they've ventured into space! “After creating a Dark Wild West scenery for Gunmen and having storylines about monasteries in moorlands (Ravenhead), apocalyptic ice worlds (To The End) and burning cities (Easton Hope), all that remained was the way into space�, says frontman, producer extraordinaire and songsmith Seeb Levermann. Super. Having said all that, this is the usual solid metal album one has come to expect from the band. It's not outstandingly brilliant, none of it is less than good especially the excellent title track which features some really cool guitar histrionics.

"Inferno" is another standout track, if not exactly a bundle of laughs as it seems to be dealing with burning down the whole of society �" again though, top notch guitar works and somewhat of an EDM kinda feel to it. See, power metal dogs can learn new tricks! In a massive shock or not, "Interstellar", with Gus G. from Firewind, also boasts more than its fair share of guitar-based fun. Ylva Eriksson of Brothers of Metal joins in the fun on the slightly Nightwishy "Alone In The Dark" . "Absolution For Our Final Days" is a bit below par and generic but the rest of the album is really solid stuff. There's also a multitude of buying options as noted below so there's plenty of Ordan Ogan to go around.
