Eldanka: Twangin’ Tritones

I have recently been listening to the latest offering from Finland’s surf rock outfit titled Rusty Treasures (review to come soon) and have been enjoying Twangin’ Tritones goes back a few years released in 2010. The band members on this release were the aforementioned Mika Jämsä (lead guitar), Miika Lahnalampi (surf guitar), Mauri Haapamäki (bass guitar) and Oskari Kopsala (drums).

The tracks are short and fun beginning with the psychedelic surf rock of “Telegraph Jungle� with its crystal clear guitar tones and tasty rhythms. The breezy and easy flowing “The Last River Waves� is super infectious and the chugging riffs and impressive lead guitar make “Catch Me� another fine cut. The toe tapping “El Boogie�, the moody and slightly off kilter “Das Boot� and the catchy string bending in “No Way� are more album highlights.

Much like their latest disc, Tritones is melodic and catchy with the band’s sound firmly rooted in ‘60s surf rock. They certainly have an interesting sound that will especially appeal to lovers of instrumental guitar based music.
