If you love Midnight, you’ve probably already heard that the band recently signed to Metal Blade Records. What you may not have heard is that Athenar, the band’s founder (and sometimes its only member), originally sent a demo to Metal Blade in 1987. He never heard back. But now, 32 years later, the label finally has an answer. If you’ve never heard Midnight, you might want to check them out. Athenar has a shockingly catchy take on black metal that people find irresistible. If these songs are any indication, the new album (due sometime in 2020) should be a hit.
