Hatriot: From Days Unto Darkness

From the Bay Area in Northern California, Thrash band Hatriot have released their third album From Days Unto Darkness�(Massacre Records). Following in the footsteps of their Exodus singing father, Steve “Zetro� Souza, son’s Cody (Vocals & Bass) and Nick (Drums) keep the family business alive with a heavy Modern Thrash release.

From Days Unto Darkness is an intense 9 track album that is deep with ferocious reckless abandon and sledgehammer riffing. Guitars are roofed, manic double-bass drumming all throughout and rapid-fire rhythms make this a mayhem-fest. In much the vain of modern day Testament, these songs have a breakneck tempo with a chaotic temperament. Songs like “Carnival of Execution� and “Daze Into Darkness� lay down the gauntlet of abundant heaviness.

Hatriot’s From Days Unto Darkness is a real slice of 2019 Bay Area Thrash and does that scene justice, but it is something that you’ve heard before. You don’t always need to reinvent the wheel when it comes to Metal and Hatriot does not attempt to do that here, but if you are a fan of Exodus and the aforementioned Testament, then you will be banging your head to these guys just like you do with those other bands.
