Devil Master: Manifestations

Devil Master’s two demos sold out pretty quickly but fans who missed out can now get both of them on this release. The music is remixed and remastered but it is no less raw and menacing than the original releases. Devil Master is never going to give their music the spit and polish treatment. If anything, they will defy convention at every turn, if only to remind listeners that they don’t want to do the same thing as everyone else.

I’ve listened to plenty of bands that claim to challenge the status quo, but Devil Master actually does it. Their secret is to twist everything together into a strange and chaotic assortment of sounds. Audiences will hear a mixture of punk, death, black metal, and sheer chaos. Some will love it while others will wonder just what this band wants from them. I liked what I heard. There’s no denying that Devil Master is crazy, but there’s something solid behind the chaos. Check out “Obscene Charade,� “Inhabit the Corpse,� and “Blood on My Shroud.� If you like what you hear, Devil Master will be back with their official debut album in a few short months.
