Ben-Or, Yotam: Sitting On A Cloud

Yotam Ben-Or is a harmonica player who has recently released his debut album titled Sitting On A Cloud. Ben-Or composed, arranged and supplied the lyrics for all ten tracks. On the album we have:

This is a melodic jazz album with its fair share of solos and invigorating band interplay. What makes this a little different is the use of harmonica, often as a lead instrument which is a nice change. On “Viva Hermeto Pascoal�, a track influenced by the Brazilian composer, treated piano, harmonica and busy drum work sets the music in motion. As the groove settles in superb harmonica and piano solos soon follow. “Opening� is more somber featuring cello and punctuated with pretty piano and harmonica. “Ebb and Flow� is another nice track starting with a moment of tranquility, and as the band begins the flow is quite spry as the musicians exhibit their considerable talent. Really, the ensemble playing and on point solos makes for a great listen, thus earning an excellent four stars.
