Sacred Leather: Ultimate Force

Ready for some old school styled metal? Here comes Indiana band Sacred Leather and their debut album for Cruz Del Sur Music, titled Ultimate Force. The band are comprised of:

WRATHCHILD - VOCALS
HIGHWAY - GUITAR
CARLOFF BLITZ - GUITAR
MAGNUS IRONSLUT - BASS
JAILHOUSE - DRUMS

For this debut, the band take their cue from British legends Judas Priest & Iron Maiden, as well as the early '80s US metal scene with bands like Armored Saint, Queensryche, Omen, Cirith Ungol, and Leige Lord. Plenty of high pitched vocals courtesy of Wrathchild, as well as the twin guitar stylings of Highway and Carloff Blitz, with tunes like "Watcher" and the title cut more than ample in the metal anthem department. "Power Thrust" will get your fist pumping towards the heavens, while the moody, mini epic "Dream Search" is a power ballad-meets-prog lengthy gem. "Master is Calling" contains plenty of galloping arrangements, but perhaps the strongest track here is the snarling, savage "Prowling Sinner", a tune filled with fiery riffs, gymnastic drumming, twin guitar harmonies, and soaring vocals...a NWOBHM styled winner! The near 10-minute closer "The Lost Destructor / Priest Of The Undoer" closes the show, another epic sounding metal thumper with a clear nod to Judas Priest, riffs and solos fierce, and Wrathchild delivering some histrionic vocals.

If you grew up loving early '80s heavy metal, Ultimate Force will give you plenty of warm & fuzzies to a time that might be 35+ years ago, but still holds a warm spot in our hearts. Job well done Sacred Leather, can't wait to hear more!
