Tad Morose: Chapter X

Swedish Metal stalwarts, Tad Morose, are celebrating their 27th year as a band and have also released their new 2018 album aptly titled, Chapter X, their 10th studio effort. This 14 track album is flavored with a German Metal flair that is mixed their Swedish Progressive Metal roots and they deliver a powerful, heavy and modern sounding record.

Chapter X opens with the angular and muscular riff of "Apocalypse", that gives way to singer Ronny Hemlin's, Ripper Owens throated style of vocals, searing highs, mean lows and always powerful. That Tad Morose, underlying pulse of symphonic's pulses throughout this Melodic Metal piece and it gives a good taste of what is to come. "Deprived of Light" is a freight train of a pounder, with double bass drummer setting the pace of this Accept like barnstormer. "Nemesis" is another display of Metal goodness. A riff to die for, complete with a catchy chorus that will get stuck in your head, all while headbanging to that killer and heavy verse, while Hemlin's vocals are at their most brutal and powerful.

Chapter X is a more straight ahead, traditional sounding Metal album with touches of that old Tad Morose, Swedish Progressive Melodic Metal sound to it at times. The production is excellent and the drums and guitars just jump out at you and make this a very fierce sounding record. This is a very modern sounding Tad Morose and it is a good mixture of a bunch of Metal genres.
