Deseized: Paradigms

After more than 2 years since their last EP, Norwegian Progressive Hardcore Metaller's, Deseized, are back with already a top Metal release for 2018. Their 5 track EP entitled Paradigms, is a powerful statement in the Djent/Prog Metal realm and it catches your ear immediately upon your first listen. Fans of Periphery, Beyond The Buried And Me and Meshuggah will totally dig this heavy effort.

With most of the songs being written by guitarist, Semming Haraldsen and singer, Andreas Lien, Deseized sound like they hail from Sweden and the Gothenburg scene that has been a breeding ground for some of the greatest Metal music of the past 20+ years. Songs are heavy riffed with growling vocals that give way to clean vocals and their melodies, all while being forged in a eclectic and diverse fashion. Aggressive and angry are tunes like "Statues" and the hyper staccato and melodic, "Echoes", while "Celestial" is Djenty tour de force that twists and turns in all of its off-time glory. The final track, "Sonder" features some of the bands finest songwriting to date and also shows the bands maturity since their A Thousand Forms of Action EP, with a calculated slower groove that allows the band to show off their Math-Metal skills.

I instantly loved this Paradigms EP from Deseized. There is nothing not to love. Heavy groove riffing, syncopated poly-rhythms and raw growl type vocals balanced out by melodic clean singing with headbang-able choruses with interesting lyrical content. This is a stand alone statement by Deseized and is an excellent sonically sounding Modern Metal record that it begs for your attention and will surely will not disappoint.
