Dreamaker: Enclosed

Dreamaker makes no bones about what they are. They are Metal with a capital "M". Their CD Enclosed opens with a classic Metal anthem, "I Live My Own Life" in which Elisa Martin's vocals soar with and above the machine gun drumming of Jorge Saez and the rapid bass of Carlos Pena.

Although you have keyboards, two guitars, and 6 performers, the songs do not contain a lot of variety. The driving Metal sound is prominent on most of the CD. I had reviewed Dark Moor's new CD, stating that they didn't quite have enough variety, with every song having the same melodic metal sound. Since 3 members of Dreamaker left Dark Moor to follow their style, I can only guess that Dark Moor wasn't hard enough for them. It's really too bad, since Dreamaker could use a little melody to break up their excellent driving rock sound. Where as Dark Moor could use a little crunch to interject some change in their sound.

Enclosed is a CD that will appeal to almost all straight forward metal fans. I have been listening to the CD over and over for almost a week so that I could get a good feel for this review, and I must tell you that a different facet of the music sticks out each time. This is a solid band that needs to work a little more on counter-melody to get to that next level.
