Frontiers Records once again delivers an outstanding young band on our doorstep, this time in the form of UK act Bigfoot. Based in Wigan, England, Bigfoot are a five piece hard rock/metal band (they classify themselves as 'chug rock') who are now releasing their self-titled full length debut, which contains 11 tracks of melodic, hard hitting heavy rock.
Comprised of vocalist Antony Ellis, guitarists Sam Millar and Mick McCullagh, bassist Matt Avery, and Tom Aspinall on drums, Bigfoot bust out of the gate with the fiery rocker "Karma", a true testament for the bands love of '70s and '80s hard hitting music. "The Fear" also rocks, but shows the bands ability to write a super catchy hook, with Ellis putting in a fine vocal performance and especially delivering an instantly memorable chorus. "Tell Me a Lie" is a fiery number with some blistering blues metal guitar work and more of those addicting hooks, and "Forever Alone" has a rootsy, almost Southern Rock feel. Thunderous grooves permeate "Eat Your Words", a Bad Company meets Lynyrd Skynyrd styled rocker with a killer guitar riff, and the bluesy hard rock continues on the memorable "Prisoner of War" and the barnstorming stomp of "Freak Show", where the scorching wah-wah drenched guitars come out to play in fine fashion. More riff heavy fueled songs like "I Dare You" and "Uninvited", plus the moody "The Devil in Me" and the epic "Yours" round out what is a very strong release.
Based on what they have on display here on this Frontiers debut, Bigfoot are more than ready to jump into the fire and claim their spot atop the modern day hard rock mountain. With a slight nod to the past but geared up for 2017, Bigfoot have a sound & style that is ready made for heavy rock fans of all ages.
