Fighter Records presents Heavy Bombers, the sophomore release from Santiago, Chile metal act Bolido, who are comprised of Johnny Trivino (guitar/vocals) and Vic Deimos (bass). No additional info is given as to drums, but they sound programmed here, and the band appears to be auditioning new members to round out their line-up for live touring. Basically, these guys are heavily influenced by '80s era Judas Priest, which you can hear right off the bat on opening cut "The Absolute Dominion of the Skies", with plenty of rampaging riffs and Trivino's skyrocketing vocals. "Never Ending Road" could have been a leftover from British Steel with its anthemic chorus and thunderous guitar work, while "War Machine" also brings to mind acts such as Primal Fear, Accept, and Leige Lord. There's a sleazy nature to the hook laden "Rock 'n' Roll Days", while the title track and "Supersonic" are both pulverizing examples of European styled power metal, the rhythms busy and the guitar work chunky.
It's easy to hear the promise in Bolido, and one can only imagine how lethal an act they are sure to become once they flesh out their line-up a bit. Plenty of heavy songs filled with great vocals and kick ass guitar playing, Heavy Bombers is an easy recommendation for those who crave energetic traditional/power metal with a healthy dose of Judas Priest influence thrown on top.
