Spacewave: Space Dubs
I don't know much about electronic musician John S. Palmer and his project Spacewave except for the fact he has a new album titled Space Dubs. According to the liner notes the music was originally created for Jamaican dub reggae artist Lee "Scratch" Perry for his album titled Must Be Free.
What you get here is a mix of electronic music and reggae with the use of keyboards, guitar and drums, most notably bongos. The songs are quite similar in construction, often beginning with intense electronics, very in your face and settling into some nice pseudo reggae grooves constructed of keyboards or guitar. The electronic mixture creates a dense layer of sound and is often quiet catchy, if a little redundant.
Still, this is an enjoyable listen and will likely be of interest to fans of reggae and electronic music. If this sounds to your liking click on the link below to learn more.
