Loft Club, The: Heart's Desire (EP)

The Loft Club are based out of Exeter, England and released their debut EP on October 16, 2016 titled Heart's Desire. In November of last year the band added a remixed version of the title track done by Niklas Ibach.

In the band are Daniel Schamroth (vocals, guitar), Jamie Whyte (bass, vocals), Kieran Chalmers (drums), Amy O'Loughlin (vocals) and Dan Wright (guitar).

There are so many new bands crawling out of the woodwork these days you just never know what to expect. With Heart's Desire The Loft Club has showed they have plenty of promise in their pop rock stylish '60s influenced tunes. The title track has a bit of southern rock with nice acoustic guitar and catchy lead vocals. With "Flicker" the jangly guitar rhythms recall The Byrds, a main influence of the band. "I'm Just a Man" is another rock tune with a more bass heavy sound whereas "Sticks & Stones" begins with delicious acapella vocals before catchy chords with some nice sustain will keep you hooked. The last track is a remix of the title tune turning it into catchy electronic dance music with a pastoral and dreamy vibe. This tune shows the band's versatility able to comfortably tackle different musical styles.

If '60s style pop rock flavourings are in your wheel house I strongly urge you give The Loft Club a listen. One of the better indie releases I have heard in a while.
