Kwame Binea Shakedown: Roots Rock N Universal Love
 Kwame Binea is a singer/songwriter with a just released debut album titled Roots Rock N Universal Love. He calls his band the Kwame Binea Shakedown which is certainly a talented group of musicians. If you are a fan of funky soulful rock this album will be a nice find.
The bluesy funky soul of "Ain't Your Woman" begins the disc with a melodic flair and Kwame's vocals are very much a strong point. On the toe tapping funky grooves of "Far Away" the horns come in full bore adding a burst of colour to the sound. With "Setting Sun" an acoustic guitar intro begins what is an uplifting and catchy tune with a positive message lyrically. One of the best tracks is the slightly heavier "Love Surreal" featuring some wailing guitar work courtesy of Vernon Reid (Living Colour). Another searing guitar solo can be heard on the rocking "Mona Lisa" while the soulful vocal melodies in "In Your Eyes" are as infectious as anything on the album.
Binea has a silky smooth voice that will sooth your soul if you let it. If you are into funky soulful grooves Roots Rock N Universal Love will be right up your alley.
