Speedclaw: Iron Speed (EP)

Debut EP from this Croatian band is a fun if simplistic homage to the glorious era of the NWOBHM that spawned so many bands; some of who have gone on to enjoy long careers and huge success and numerous others whose names will be forever be enshrined as having played their part in an influential metal movement. Titles such as 'Speedclaw', 'Mistress of the Night' and 'Power from Hell' sound exactly like you would expect – face melting riffs, fist pumping hooks and simple yet catchy choruses. Their band name may be cheesy but Speedclaw are proudly wearing their influences on the chests and if further proof were needed they close out with a full throttle cover of Exciter's 'Heavy Metal Maniac'.
