Deathwish: Unleash Hell
Lemmy always insisted that Motörhead was a rock and roll band, nothing more and nothing less. Whatever we might call it, Motörhead's music quickly became the standard for any band hoping to blend heavy rock, punk, and metal. I'm not suggesting that Deathwish is simply ripping off Motörhead, only that their blend of rock, punk, and metal plays carries on an important tradition. They don't break any new ground, but most listeners will find their energy, aggressiveness, and love for heavy rock / punk, contagious. I know the song titles (and some of the lyrics) seem clichéd, but the music works well enough that it ultimately doesn't matter. The first and last tracks are especially good but stick around for the rest. This is a short album and it packs a punch.
