Hunter, Ian: Sampling in Reality

Here's a little tidbit for you, Sampling in Reality by Ian Hunter. The former Mott the Hoople front man has continued to remain quite prolific by touring and producing new music. Let's just say Hunter isn't one to rest on his laurels.

This is a sampling of his recently released massive box set titled Stranded in Reality containing thirty discs. There are seven tracks but the last two are not included in the set; the supremely catchy "American Music" and the Lou Reed classic "Sweet Jane" which proves to be a near perfect match for Hunter's raspy vocals. The rest of the tracks are equally good, from the beginning rocker "A Little Rock 'n' Roll" to the acoustic folky ballad "Waterlow" showcasing Hunter's vulnerability and his fragile lead vocals. Two live tracks, the poignant "Sons 'n' Lovers" and the catchy pop rock of "American Dream" are taken from his acoustic tours with both featuring stand out vocals and melodic rhythms.

These tracks are just a taste of what you can expect to hear on Stranded in Reality. It's always nice to hear music from the old guard, especially when it is this good. You can find more information on the Proper Records website link below.
