Here's a curious little release from the folks over at Fighter Records, a re-release of the 2013 album from Spanish heavy metal act Muro. Originally formed in 1981, these guys have been around for quite some time and gone through their share of stops, starts, and line-up changes, including adding a brand new vocalist just after the original release of El Cuarto Jinete. Basically, Muro play classic power/speed metal in the vein of Helloween, Gamma Ray, Leige Lord, Running Wild, Accept, and Helstar, and the songs here fluctuate between manic, double bass drum driven rippers like "Otra Batalla" and the title track to more mid paced crunchers such as "Maldito Bastardo" and "Sobrevivir". Production is quite good, the guitars massive and the vocals of Silver powerful, though he sings in Spanish, which might be a sore spot for some listeners. Plenty of galloping rhythms and 'oh ohh ohhh ohhhh' vocals to be found on many of the tracks, other strong cuts such as "Hermanos de Sangre" and "Muero por ti" easy to recommend for their headbanging nature despite what will certainly be a language barrier for some, the lone English language track being a fun cover of Rainbow's "Kill the King". Overall, a fun album that probably has a few too many songs, but it provides all the right metal cliches and is well worth a listen.
