Powerwolf: Blessed & Possessed Tour Edition
 Blessed & Possessed first appeared in the middle of 2015 and gained a big four stars from my good self

and it enabled the band to continue their quite remarkable upward trajectory especially in mainland Europe where it charted at the upper end of the sales charts. The album has been be re-released by Napalm Records as an opulent tour-edition including new album artwork and a special bonus live-album of their headlining performance in front of 40.000 fans at Summer Breeze festival 2015.
The Blessed & Possessed album itself is unchanged and remains a fine example of the Wolf's gothic-inflected power metal and is well worth investigating although whether the somewhat cynical addition of the live album will persuade dedicated fans to shell out the readies again will work or indeed is ethical is open to debate. The live album itself is enjoyable especially for the in-between banter where we learn that the German for "Heavy Metal army" is…"Heavy Metal army!" I can only assume that this re-release exists to try to get new fans for the band as it will retail at a suitably nice price, otherwise there's plenty of other Powerwolf product out there without the cynical marketing ploy.
