Into The Nebula is the dynamic second album by Distant Sun a Moscow based metal trio that competently blend thrash with power metal. As expected the band does have an aggressive side when they bring that metal thunder but they can also be melodic with an adaptable lead vocalist that changes accordingly. Distant Sun's influences include Metallica, Blind Guardian, Rage, Iron Savior and Annihilator, having formed in 2011 the band released their debut album Dark Matter in 2015. On their latest recording Into The Nebula lyrically Distant Sun "deal with the famous sci-fi and fantasy sagas of Frank Herbert's "Dune" and J.R.R.Martin's "A Game of Thrones", as well as D&D, and "Magic: The Gathering". For the most part Into The Nebula is a solid outing by Distant Sun and with their strongest tracks like "God Emperor" and that catchy heavy chugging riffage they do deliver. Distant Sun are more than your average metal band and Into The Nebula should be of interest to those who like Rage, Iced Earth, Helstar and similar groups.
