Them Bulls: Them Bulls

Here we have the full-length self-titled debut from Italian hard rockers Them Bulls, featuring 10 upbeat and hard hitting songs that should appeal to fans of Queens of the Stone Age, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Deville, and Lo-Pan. Filled with plenty of memorable, fuzz-toned riffs and pleasant vocal melodies, much of the album has a groovy stoner/psych feel, with tunes like "Bandana, Carlos", "Devil's Kiss", "Twisted Tongues", and "Through the Sun" being a few of the highlights to instantly look out for. Guitarist/vocalist Daniele Pollio has a decent voice, but I'd love to hear him get a bit more aggressive, as his style at time is a bit too sugary sweet for some of these songs, especially on "We Must Live Up" where it would have been nice to hear him crank it up a notch. For the most part, Them Bulls is an enjoyable listen, not too heavy, with lots of psych elements floating throughout, and though I wish the band would have taken a few more chances and cranked up the volume a bit, this is still easy to recommend.
