Guitarist Marcin Habaj started the Polish hard rock/metal group Guitar Force in 2007, the band do have some prior recordings to their name but Guitar Force got their big break earlier this year as they signed an international contract with Inverse Records who will soon release their new album Different Universe. With a name like Guitar Force you would expect a fair amount of input from said instrument and they do have not two but three guitarists in their line-up. But before you get too excited Guitar Force are no Iron Maiden and it's not the shred fest some may be expecting. Guitar Force also have a female lead vocalist and just to mix it up there is also a violinist. My overall impression of Different Universe is far from glowing, I don't know if it's just my downloaded version as this is one album that's in need of a more powerful and suitable sound. As it stands I don't feel that the mostly lightweight metal songs on Different Universe have been presented to their full potential. So try as I might Different Universe is not an album that I'm probably going to revisit.
