Kissin' Dynamite: Generation Goodbye

It comes as something of a shock to find that Germany's Kissin' Dynamite(a magnificent hair metal party band if ever there was one) appear to be attempting to grow up on their new album. Also current events of politics and economy would have influenced the songwriting. Andi Schnitzer (lyricist) suggests, "We live in a time of constant accessibility, where everyone needs to know everything at any time. The wrong things are taken for too important. That's not healthy anymore. Like this, the people get insecure, blind and shy. "

My immediate and somewhat terrifying thought was whether or not the band were going to become ultra-serious and introspective and I am pleased to report that other than "If Clocks Were Running Backwards" things are still within the realms of catchy, hook-laden modern pop metal. Phew! That's a relief. There's nothing here as utterly infectious and fun as "Addicted to Metal" or "Money, Sex & Power", however, the band have moved forward on in an almost mature manner (unless you've seen the video for "Hashtag Your Life") and are destined to be around for the long haul.
