This is a swift gander through the deluxe version of Eclipse's third album which gained 4.5 stars from Pete Pardo and 4 from myself upon release early last year. I described it as being full of, "magnificent muscular melodic rock songs," whilst Pete noted the, "unforgettable vocals, masterful guitar work...I mean, if you love melodic hard rock, it doesn't get much better than this."
The obvious key question here is whether the live album is worth forcing oneself into buying Armageddonize for a second time. It's a difficult question to answer as doubtless you'll have to pay for two discs which is seldom fun but as a record in its own right it stands up well. Given the live setting everything is obviously somewhat rougher than the studio versions and the guitars are beefed up to the max and the song selection is strong and includes all their "greatest hits." As a big fan of the band I would definitely purchase the deluxe version but the casual fan be may able to do without.
