Master Creator is the new melodic power/speed metal album by the impressive German group Sinbreed. Though I am hardly surprised by the number of quality tracks on Master Creator when their prior releases When Worlds Collide and Shadows were so impressive. Those familiar with Sinbreed would be aware that the band is now minus one guitarist after Blind Guardian's Marcus Siepen's departure. Though while the guitarist has left the group his Blind Guardian band mate and talented drummer Frederik Ehmke who has been a part of Sinbreed's lineup since their debut remains. Once again band founder Flo Laurin takes total responsibility for the guitars as he did on the first Sinbreed album When Worlds Collide and puts in another great performance, Flo also takes care of the keyboards.
Sinbreed are really fired up for Master Creator, not ones for atmospheric instrumental build ups they promptly launch into "Creation Of Reality" with blazing guitars and double kick drums, and lead vocalist Herbie Langhans who has also appeared on the most recent Avantasia album Ghostlights is delivering another powerful raspy display on this and the rest of Sinbreed's third album. The band are branching out though chiefly Sinbreed remain in familiar territory with a heavy mix of rapid metal, some mid paced tunes and the slower powerful title track "Creator At The Gate", serving up a great selection for fans of European power metal. Overall Master Creator hasn't quite had me captivated to the extent of those two prior releases, but it's still a class above so many other similar albums and one that I would have no hesitation in recommending.
