Product of Hate: Buried In Violence

The Wisconsin Metal newcomers, Product of Hate, have released their brutal debut record, Buried In Violence (Napalm Records) which has been mixed and mastered by James Murphy (of Testament, Death & Obituary fame). This debut disc is chocked full of guttural grunts and groove heavy and headbangin' fodder.

Buried in Violence is an 11 track freshman release that features plenty of heavy guitar driven riffing mixed with angry street raged vocals and in your face musicianship that doesn't quit. From the opening riff of, "Kill. You. Now.", the unrelenting speed and power of Product of Hate is beyond evident. With Testament-like undertones being apparent here, the angst and ferocity is the way to come out of the gate for a new band. Attention gotten! Second track, "Annihilation" doesn't let up and for that matter, not much on this debut record lets go of the jugular either.

A surprise cover of Ozzy's "Perry Mason" closes this album and is given a heavy overhaul but manages to stay in line with the bands original material. However, the melodic and catchy chorus that is Osbourne's original track does make it stand out from the band's self penned songs. Being overly melodic and with a catchy chorus is not what Product of Hate are all about.Buried In Violence in all of its merciless and uncompromising glory, is a powerful debut record that tends to stay on the heavy path without much deviation from said path and fans of bands like Testament, Hatebreed and Lamb of God will take to this debut immediately. Those with a faint heart are forewarned.
