Nuclear Blast originally released The End of Sanctuary back in 2000, at the time it was Sinner's 12th release overall, and Mat Sinner and company are still pumping them out to this day when he has time away from his main act Primal Fear. This limited edition gold disc reissue from Metal Mind Productions doesn't offer any extras, but does deliver the CD exactly as remembered for anyone looking for an upgrade or those discovering the world of Sinner for the first time. For a band that's been around since the early '80s, they've been pretty consistent, delivering a mix of classic heavy metal and hard rock, led here by the vocals of bassist Mat Sinner and the dual lead guitar work of Alex Beyrodt & Henny Wolter, both of whom would also later become members of Primal Fear, where Beyrodt still resides today. Though not the best of the Sinner discography, there are still some great metal gems here, such as "Pain in Your Neck", "Blood Relations", "The Prophecy", and "Night of the Wolf", each one jam packed with crunch-o-rama riffing and powerful drumming to go along with memorable melodies.
Other efforts from the same time period such as Judgement Day, The Nature of Evil, and There Will Be Execution might be a tad stronger overall, but The End of Sanctuary is still a pretty solid effort from a band that keeps cranking out classic metal time and time again.
