While power metal is the key ingredient in their music Ghost City are a group that are also inspired by other styles of metal, Tragic Soul Symphony is the title of Ghost City's first album and yes symphonic metal is one of those other inclusions. I really do like Tragic Soul Symphony this is an impressive metal album and the one that standouts from those other recent power metal debuts I've heard. Ghost City's first album is teeming with catchy melodic metal, spirited musicianship and strong far reaching clean vocals.
Ghost City's songs may not be a total breath of fresh air but they still do draw you in, they combine the symphonic side of their music so well with powerful results. Tragic Soul Symphony's symphonic power metal opener "Hypocrisy" has Ghost City pumping out a lively melodic metal, "Nobody Will Be In You" is also an album standout and the band's potent performances on this one are simply fantastic as they are kept busy with all the time shifts, it's also quite atmospheric. Ghost City do have some heavy weight competition with fellow Italian metal groups, and Tragic Soul Symphony shows they posses the talent and are up for the challenge.
