Tang is a New York based power trio featuring Bonnie Parker (bass, vocals), Denny Colt (guitar, keyboards, vocals) and Mark Edwards (drums). The new album is titled Blood & Sand and folks this one absolutely rocks. These girls know how to play and Edwards drum work adds the necessary power to keep it moving at a fast pace. Huge metallic riffs, thick bass grooves and the occasional symphonic embellishment gives these songs the vibrancy they need. Tunes like the album opening "Crashing" does just that, as the razor sharp riffs and thunderous bottom end ensure there is plenty of power. The vocals are also very good and both girls have their share of earworm inducing moments. On "Disgusted" the lead vocals are more raw with a punkier, more angry vibe. The keyboards add a symphonic element as the band veer into Gothic metal territory. "Reign Of Blood" features the lead vocals of Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) and the melody is good enough to really sink in. Dido for "Red Dust" and its tasty guitar groove and crashing beats.
Tang have released a very good upbeat metal album with Blood & Sand. If you dig music that has balls and full out rocks with hook laden guitar riffs all over the place, I urge you check this out. Check out the link below for more information.
