It obviously doesn't hurt a band to leave a strong initial impression and Jacobs Moor sure did that with All That Starts. All That Starts was one of the standout debut metal releases in 2014, this Austrian group were sure off to a positive start. Now the talented lineup is backing that album up with another impressive recording The Evil In Me an EP which features two new songs and a selection of live tracks.
Jacobs Moor is a creative group who like to alternate the heaviness/complexity of the music and the vocals from melodic to aggressive tones, while blending such styles as progressive and thrash metal creating those memorable songs. Title track "The Evil In Me" is up first and the band shifts gears breaking out and presenting their thrash side, the second new inclusion is the slower "Take Me Away" an extended track mixing rock and metal with captivating performances by the band and sounding in part of bands like Porcupine Tree. If you haven't heard Jacob Moor's debut the live component features four of those standouts tracks taken from All That Starts following the atmospheric intro "Moor". Jacobs Moor do sound like the professional well tuned unit very much in sync with each other in a live environment.
Just like their debut I have no hesitation in recommending Jacob Moor's follow up release The Evil In Me.
