Deathhammer: Evil Power

Hells Headbangers routinely introduces us to bands that are simultaneously crazy, offensive, blasphemous or all the above. Most of the time, the bands are strong underground outfits that just want to play music that has no place in the mainstream. Deathhammer may be one of the best known of this crowd. A Norwegian duo, the guys have been releasing music for a few years. It's always a consistent blend of speed metal and black metal with a passionate commitment to 80s wickedness. The track "Satan is Back" may indicate something of what this band is doing. I almost expected the song to open with the line "Don't call it a comeback / I've been here for years," but it didn't. If you like fast metal played as though the mid-1980s never ended, then this is just what you've been looking for. Check out "Sinner's Possession" and "Warriors of Evil." Most importantly, though, have fun with this one.
