Don Braden Organix Quartet, The: Luminosity

Don Braden is a wonderful jazz musician specializing in saxophone and flute. His resume is extensive having taught jazz at several universities and has written many scores for television and film. On top of that he has nineteen albums as a band leader with his latest titled Luminosity.
The Quartet is:

Don Braden (tenor saxophone, flute, alto flute)
Kyle Koehler (Hammond organ)
Dave Stryker (guitar)
Cecil Brooks III (drums)

Upbeat jazz is the name of the game here as this music grooves with great melodies and swinging beats. Every player is a stand out musician and although this is some catchy stuff the solos highlight every track; sax and guitar punctuate the bristling swing of "Driftin", fantastic Hammond and funky guitar in "Jive Turkey" and fabulous flute in the balladic "Do Love Me Do". In fact, "Chelsea Bridge" features just solo sax for all six plus minutes.

Luminosity is an excellent and upbeat jazz album that will keep your toes tapping long after the music stops. That's the uplifting affect this music has and I for one cannot get enough. Released on Creative Perspective Music.
