Gallery of Life is the debut album from a band which was formed under the name "Rightdoor" in 2008 by Martin Klein and Richard Germanus and was operating more as a project during the first years. The current line-up was completed as Peter Gacik [drums], Martin Cico [guitars] and Filip Andel [bass] joined the band. With the help of producer Jan Cvercko this record was recorded last year and changed their name to Within Silence. Swedish label Ulterium Records are releasing the very promising disc.
It took me a track or two to realize how much the vocals reminded me of HammerFall's Joacim Cans but this is always something I welcome. The band don't exactly do anything revolutionary with the power metal genre but they do what they do very well from the fist-pumping gallop through the ultra-melodic "Silent Desire" to the end of "Road to the Paradise "–"Intro" and "Outro" really don't need to exist but such is life – when will bands learn that nobody values these types of tracks? Audiences do, however, value good songs and Within Silence are sufficient in this department - "Road to the Paradise" being a decent example featuring some nice texturing keyboards. Gallery of Life won't solve the Eurozone crisis or anything like that but it is a good example of European power metal in 2015.
