Dirty Shirt: Dirtylicious

I described Dirty Shirt's last album Freak Show as an album which was, "fun and eclectic and twists and turns all over the shop generically making it a very interesting listen." It would be an equally apt description of the very fine follow up which, once again is available from bandcamp (see the link below) so there's no excuse for not making the effort.

As with the first album there is a lot going on within the grooves of Dirtylicious, often within the same song such as the rollicking fun that is "Balkanique" which is at times super heavy yet leavened by acoustic guitars and Romanian influences. Similarly "Dulce-I Vinu' " is bone-crushingly intense at times yet still emotional whilst "Cozbar" brings the strings in early and leads the listener into a ballad of utter sweetness until the death metal vocals and scuzzy guitars take over. All-in-all this is another splendid album from Romania's finest band.
