Trident: Shadows

Trident has a pretty simple goal—to create Death / Black metal that is dangerous and powerful and awesome. Before I even heard the music, I was pretty much convinced it would be awesome. I know the old saw about not judging a book by its cover, but the cover art on this one just screams brutal extreme metal. Yes, I know it's a depiction of a grim reaper, but very look as good as this one. The menace and the mystery of death is all there in the picture. Around the reaper, a small crowd gathers, torches raised, destruction on their minds. I'm not certain as to what's going on, but I like what I see.

Here's the line-up for the band: Reaper (guitar), Ulv (guitar), Beast (bass), Goat (Drums) and Defiler (vocals). The music is always on point and never lets up. This is extreme metal done right. It is also a nod to the heyday of Swedish death / black metal. Check out "Dark Nordic Rage." Highly recommended!
