Solitary Sabred: Redemption Through Force

If you enjoy an heroic tale of good versus evil then Solitary Sabred the epic power metal group from Cyprus have one on Redemption Through Force their dramatic new album. Solitary Sabred's debut The hero, The monster, The myth released in 2009 was met with positive reception allowing Solitary Sabred to expand their touring schedule and no doubt their fan base. Solitary Sabred's second release is an old school US style power metal release that has been a work in progress since late 2011. A concept album with a massive slice of epicness Redemption Through Force is part historic-part fiction, and one that tells of an ex.crusader Jacob Cramer, Jacob becomes an exorcist and this is his fight against the wicked.

At first the vocals are quite Manowar in style, and speaking of which fans of that group and the like should certainly give Solitary Sabred a go. As the album progresses their vocalist Petros "Asgardlord" Leptos display his high reaching range as well, that is to Rob Halford/King Diamond levels, the potent guitars also play a significant role in the band's mighty sound. Solitary Sabred are setting the scene venturing all the way back to 1187 with "Synaxxis of Honor" as the voice over, sound effects and music combine. Solitary Sabred's persuasive epic metal gains momentum as the elite force of knights known as the "Disciples of the Sword" await their last commands and the music is as mighty as their steel, but alas the ensuing battle is lost, defeated by the Saracen hordes. Though as the dust settles it appears that all is not to be lost as out of the ashes a hero rises and his story is told. There is added narration and appropriate sound effects during the album adding to the epic cinematic feel of Redemption Through Force.

This is a fun tale that Solitary Sabred is telling on Redemption Through Force, through their arresting songs like when the witches burn on "Burn Magic, Black Magic" and "Sarah Lancaster (the witch's breed)" which features so much vocal variety, the evil element in this track brings with it thoughts of King Diamond. Solitary Sabred's Redemption Through Force is an entertaining release that will sweep you away with its music and storyline.
