Lenna Kuurmaa is an Estonian singer, actress and TV personality who was the front-woman of the pop-rockers Vanilla Ninja, an all-female outfit, won the selection to represent Switzerland in the Eurovision Song which here in the UK would have probably meant the death knell of her career! Since Vanilla Ninja called it a day Lenna has appeared as an actress and TV presenter in Estonia and started a musical solo project under her own name, until she was approached by Frontiers Records with a concept to return with a new release with songs tailored for her singing style, with musical influences ranging from classic Heart and Europe with a touch of Roxette. These names certainly set my pulse racing!

Almost inevitably Alessandro Del Vecchio slots into the producer's seat as well as taking care of keyboards, percussion and backing vocals. The rest of the music is performed by Francesco Marras – guitars, Bruce Gaitsch – guitar, Anna Portalupi – bass and Alessandro Polifrone – drums and as one might expect with Del Vecchio also helping with song writing this is an accomplished if slightly generic modern pop/rock album. If we accept Roxette as one of the musical touchstones (and we really should) the "Live And Let Go" is the ballad which would have once been used for MTV airplay and all the other tunes are serviceable and very much what we have come to expect from Frontiers Records over recent years so if that floats your metaphorical boat there is plenty to enjoy, if not, stay clear.
