Ready for a mosh friendly, neck snappin', air guitar splattering good time? Well, Finnish thrash act Lost Society will make sure all the above happens with their Nuclear Blast debut Terror Hungry. This is fun, old school thrash in the grand tradition of early Overkill, Exodus, Megadeth, Metallica, Toxic, Destruction, and Heathen, as blistering rhythms, manic guitar riffs, and gruff vocals take center stage, driving furious headbangers like "Lethal Pleasure", "Game Over", and the relentless title track to some serious metal heights. Though much of Terror Hungry is non-stop speed, when the band slows things down a bit, as on "Tyrant Takeover", "Snowroad Blowout", or "Overdosed Brain", the results are no less impressive. "Thrashed Reality" has hints of old S.O.D./M.O.D., while "Brewtal Awakening" and "Mosh It Up" seem like perfect Anthrax styled blasters for anyone in the pit. Overall, nothing original happening here but man is this a treasure chest of old school styled thrash riffs, solos, and rhythms for any metal lover. Slot this alongside the latest from Game Over and you have two recent thrash releases well worth your attention.
